I’m learning how to trust, because I cannot control many things in my life.
In previous podcasts of The Practice of Living as we Intend, we’ve talked about how we often try to control the uncontrollable and how that process keeps us in a tailspin. Today, in episode 28, I’m sharing with you that I’m realizing how the practice of trusting the process of our circumstances, can not only offer us strength and peace, but can also positively change the outcome of our situation.
When we worry about what is taking place in our lives, or the unknown that we realize is in our future, it gives way to anxiety and unease. That worry slowly becomes our focus and it causes our mind to dwell on our difficulties and troubles. It quite possibly takes away our ability to see any of the positive that we can take on board from our situation, as well as keep us from seeing the beauty within other circumstances that are also happening within our lives.
We are each going to endure hardship that we feel unprepared for. Yet, how we choose to react to these challenging experiences will either offer us strength, hope and the ability to gain new perspective, or could keep us in a static position that will be hard to move out of.
Trusting the process of your circumstance, trust in God and trust in others, takes faith. And to have faith, I’m learning that I first have to practice acceptance of my situation.
As we begin to practice acceptance and live through our situation, (not giving in to denial, ignoring our circumstances or pushing them away), we automatically begin to practice faith—which allows us to begin our journey of trust.
Is there something that you are not allowing yourself to trust in, right now? A person? A process or a transition in your life that you’re going through? Is there something in your life that you need to accept is taking place—whatever that may be. That thing you may not want to accept, but you know is present.
Join me in this week’s episode and let’s begin learning how to dial up our trust when we need it most. We can do this. And we are better together.
Big love,
Mwah!

It’s so hard to trust the process sometimes. I like to take a moment and just try to be present for the moment I’m in.
I think being present is such an important part of trust. It goes back to accepting what we are going through. Thanks for your wisdom Marcie! xo~D
Yes we all go through hard times in our lives. I believe however that life finds its way to keep all in balance. That’s why I always have that strong feing that it’s going to be OK. Eventually. And it always is.
I am so happy that you live by the perspective that it will all be okay. Often in the midst of a really challenging time it’s hard to see that it will. I am practicing how to trust that the future is in God’s hands (for my mother and family) as my father passes from this life to the next. Thanks for your comment Anna. xo~D
I love the thought behind this. I have been align my mind on these lines. I am not always successful but I find my way back. I am trusting the process. All good things take time.

I am currently in this space. I finally know what I am passionate about and I want it more than ever. There is never a perfect time to leap but I feel like I’m running towards my purpose and that’s more important than walking away from my job. Thanks for sharing
How powerful Stephanie! And what a joy to be using your gifts and talents. I feel there is no other reward or freedom than to offer all I have to others. And that truly is my purpose..! xoxo~D
It can be so hard to trust your own instinct in this world. I struggle a lot with self-doubt. This was a great reminder that self-awareness is key.
