Thanksgiving gratitude

Today marks 3 months to the day that my father passed away. I can recollect the sacred moment as if I am reliving it now: my hand placed on his heart feeling the beat slow, seeing his peaceful face for the last time on this earth and taking in the sacred moment with my mother, holding his hand and my sis, niece and nephew by his side.

This weekend as I sat at a table with friends, prior to our meal I shared this same description.

I then shared how grateful I was to be with my father as he took his last breath on earth and his next in the heavens.

Since that unforgettable day, my life has been impacted in new ways, as I begin to understand how ‘life’s unfolding’ creates movement within our own lives—which causes us to continually become all that we are (and all that we are capable of being).

…One by one, each person around the table began sharing an experience they had this year that has altered their lives. As I sat there listening with great intention and a full heart, every unique story was unfolded, one by one. These experiences—perhaps unexpected, unplanned and most unforeseen—were creating a unique momentum of change in the people that sat around this table with me.

Movement.

Movement within our lives isn’t always desired. It can involve the deepest of heartache, confusion, stress and even loss. Yet within it is a fierce catalyst that is offering you an opportunity to shift, grow, perceive differently, attain newness and live as you were uniquely intended.

As I spend time with my family around the Thanksgiving table this week, join me on The Practice of Living as we Intend podcast for a series of episodes where we discuss the imperative flow of movement within our lives.

Be you, and thrive!

I love the idea of looking at events as creating movement in our lives. Sometimes it’s not the way we want to move, but like you said, it’s an opportunity to grow and change.

So so true Sam! If we can ‘see’ our experiences differently, we realize there is always some truth to gain that we can take on board! Thanks for your comment! xo~D
