Spend time with those who make you better

spend time

Hi friend!

I can envision you over there hustling to complete all your tasks for the upcoming holiday! At the moment, I look across the room at a beautifully decorated tree. Beneath the twinkling lights and beautiful bulbs, lay rolls of gift wrap and ribbon. (My friendly reminder to wrap all the special gifts purchased!). I am confident that we will both tie up all the loose ends at work and home, in order to take some time off in the weeks ahead.

While juggling various tasks today, I’ve been thinking a lot about what is important to me as the new year approaches—and making meaningful connections is the first thing that comes to mind. I’m certain we can all attest to the power of maintaining various business relationships. Cultivating loyal relationships and networking within and out of our industries is key to much of our success.

But what about your personal network? How are you maintaining your current relationships and have you considered the need to being open to discover new ones?

This year, more than any other, I find people in my life are extremely busy. And I’m waving my hand over here to admit that I have felt similar feelings—like there just isn’t enough time in the day to accomplish all that I desire. But how are we prioritizing whom and  what we are giving our time to?

It is critical to surround yourself with people who support you, who challenge you and encourage you. Spend your valuable time with those who make you better, make you happy and bring you joy. Join forces with those who believe in you.”

Not only should we invest our time into deepening our current relationships, but also allow ourselves the opportunity to develop new connections.

More than ever, we need one another. We need meaningful and valuable connections.

Connection between people is a necessity. It takes effort, patience and commitment. It also takes trust, confidence and humility. But through the ebb and flow of life—the meaningful bond created will outlast the difficulties, challenges or sorrows that life brings. Your connections will add depth to your life.

I am beyond grateful to have connected with you.

Big love,

xo~ D
