How you interpret your circumstance is life changing

How you interpret your circumstance is life changing.

Recently I shared with you on social media and in The Practice of Living as We Intend podcast (Episode 21)  that my father’s cancer has returned. I also shared how I navigate through really difficult times like these, in order to help you through yours.

What a joy to share authentically from my heart, as many reached out to me who are also dealing with difficulty and the timing and relevance was spot on. One woman shared that it allowed her to begin grieving over her mother that had past several months prior.

May that alone be a reminder to us all, to remember the importance of leading your life in an authentic way—in a way that only you uniquely can lead—and you will always impact lives for the greater good.

Through my various conversations this week, I’ve noticed that many ‘expect’ sadness, doubt or fear to be an on-going response when someone is going through difficulty. And I’m talking really expect it, to the point where I felt they were almost disappointed when they didn’t hear, read about or see me sharing specific emotions in this manner.

I personally, am a very emotional woman, and perhaps one of the most introspective people you may meet! I have learned the true need to take valuable time to look within. This helps me to continually learn and grow as I desire. And so of course, I, just like you, have experienced emotions of sadness, confusion and stress. Over the years and through a lot of practice, I have also learned how to digest and process the experiences and emotions I encounter—as these are all very important parts of healing, learning and also growing into the woman I intend to be—on the daily.

This is a core philosophy of mine!

Every day, you and I have what I’ll refer to as ‘invisible moments,’ where we can make really powerful decisions as to how we interpret our circumstances, and then react to them. (Now and in the days, weeks, months and years to come).

And my friend, I won’t choose to take the easy route and let disappointment, doubt, frustration or fear lead my days. Instead, I work at being courageous enough to choose happiness, hope, have faith, choose love. And live on the other side of these types of emotions that take away pieces of my greatness.

How you interpret your circumstance is life changing.

circumstance life change

There is always, always, always something beautiful happening underneath the layers of difficulty that you see.

But it takes pausing and interpreting your circumstance in a deeper way vs. simply reacting and living through the depth of your negative or emotional reactions. As you approach each day and each situation that you come upon, be aware of how you interpret what is taking place. Don’t expend your energy too complacently. Practice the act of being courageous enough to choose otherwise.

You have the ability within to make these powerful and life-changing decisions!
