Connect the dots…

I’ve been exploring the beautiful country of Australia over the last several weeks and there have been so many beautiful insights brewing underneath the various experiences I’ve had while traveling. I have been moved by people, experiences, sights and sounds—and also by a particular quip I recently read by the great artist, Paul Gauguin, who wrote;

“I shut my eyes in order to see.”

I believe engaging in this way of thinking (or type of practice), will lead to a better understanding and ability to see ‘who and what’ we are connected to.

connect

I imagine when Paul Gauguin wrote that quip, it was in an effort to not allow his artist gift to be interfered with by what he saw others doing with their art. Or perhaps when he shut his eyes, it allowed his ears to close to others opinions  about his art (and possibly his own opinions?). He also may shut his eyes to navigate away from any other influence that changed how he connected with his own work. Perhaps he realized that he had to disconnect himself from all ‘sources’ by shutting his eyes, in order to connect himself—to protect his gift—his work—his ability to see his art, interpret it and then produce it—as only he could.

It’s important that we understand to whom and what we are connected to.

In episode 42 of The Practice of Living as we Intend podcast we’re going to talk about:

• The relevance of our connections

• Learn about the exchange that takes place between the connections that we have

• Have a better understanding of why we need to connect in order to disconnect

• How some connections can create boundaries that keep us from receiving other life-giving connections

• Why our contribution matters to living the abundant life we each are given the opportunity to live!

I am so looking forward to connecting the dots with you!

Thanks for listening in! I’m grateful you are here.

Be you, and thrive,

Mwah! ~D

    I love this idea! Sometimes it so important to disconnect from all the distractions competing for my energy, and just focus on doing the things I do best! Thanks for the reminder.

      Knowing how our connections (relationships, experiences) impact our lives has been a huge eye-opener for me. It’s allowed me to be more thoughtful of who and what I choose to spend my time with (or doing). xo! Thanks Becca
