Meet Nicole Burke, Owner and Founder of Rooted Garden

Rooted Garden does the hard work for clients who dream of gardening but aren’t quite sure how to start.

Each week, I meet with new clients to discuss potential garden plans, organize installations and manage maintenance for established client gardens.  I post regularly on social media and use the lessons I’m learning to produce training materials for new classes and workshops.  I run my business part-time so the other half of my day is devoted to chasing after my four kids (currently 5, 7, 9 and 10), exercising or hanging out with my husband of 12 years and tending my own garden.  Gardening and my business make me a better mom and wife and being a mom and wife help me grow as a person in business.

After learning to garden myself and experiencing the treat of homegrown salads and a retreat in my own backyard, I began Rooted Garden to share the happiness.  Gardening used to be a normal part of everyone’s lives but over the last half century, we’ve lost that connection.  I believe that gardening isn’t just a hobby for some but a way of life for all and I’m excited to be changing the landscape one client at a time until all of us are growing a little something of our own.

Meet Amy Cason, Owner and Lead Designer of Victorian Gardens

She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. Proverbs 31:25

Victorian Gardens is a floral design studio that specializes in free form, loose, organic, garden styles. Nature has so much to offer and we’ve spent years fine tuning our trait to develop our specific look and feel. Much of our product is grown in our gardens or grown in the US. We love styling events around our clients visions and seeing it all come together.

It all started when I was a little girl in my grandmother’s gardens. The wide open fields always brought such a joy and belonging. Learning about rose hips, herbs, cultivating, foraging and living a simple life. Loving a style, with climbing greens and draping vines just how they look and are grown in nature. This is mycreative muse and what keeps her close to my heart.

Meet Shelby Glynn Murray, Owner and Designer of Flowers by Shelby Glynn

Creating organic and wild floral arrangements

I stumbled upon floral design by happy accident when my sister-in-law got married in March 2016. As I was creating her wedding arrangements, I fell in love with floral design. Since then, I’ve gotten the bulk of my training from designing styled shoots and utilizing online tutorials like only a millennial could. The arrangements I make are freeform and whimsical, appealing to the bride who wants a more natural look for her wedding.

I’m a photographer as well as florist, and I believe my passion and purpose has always been to create beauty that people connect with. In all my work, I strive to create an aesthetic that establishes a mood and makes the viewer feel something. When working with flowers, I feel connected with nature; and I want my clients to feel the same.

I definitely need someone to help design my floral arrangements AND landscaping – I have no idea what works together, what grows will in shade vs. sun, or basically anything else to do with green living things. HA. Thanks for sharing the talents of these lovely ladies!
